Patients > Admissions

For admissions, please bring along your previous medical records (such as lab reports, x-rays and other documents detailing your medical history).

This is to ensure that our doctors can evaluate your case accurately and provide you with the best care possible.

  1. When you arrive at NU Hospitals, please state your medical problem at the front desk and we will guide you to the doctor you should see. If you have a prior appointment with a doctor or you know which doctor you wish to see, we will take that process forward for you.

  2. During the admissions process, we will provide you with an outpatient record slip that you will have to fill in.

  3. After you have filled in this form, we will enter these details into our information system. You will have to pay a fee that comprises the consultant fee and the registration fee. The consultant fee is valid for 14 days and the registration fee is valid for 1 year.

  4. During admission, we will provide you with an outpatient number that will serve as your unique identification number at NU Hospitals.

  5. If you require further treatment, we will also create a file in your name (this will be used by the doctors to maintain your medical history and treatment notes). The file will be sent to the doctor the next time you get admitted for treatment of the same problem.

  6. If you are paying through insurance, we will also attach a copy of the referral letter from the insurance company to your file. This is for the doctor's reference. We will send the original to the insurance company for authorisation.
