Education

We appreciate the need for performing at a very high standard of professional and academic expertise. Our knowledge and philosophy are therefore continuously refreshed and imparted to various fields of aspiring trainees. We have instituted several training and educational programs not only for full-time trainees at our Institute but also for other hospitals.

NU Trust is accredited by the National Board of Examinations for conducting DNB programmes in Nephrology and Urology. The National Board of Examinations is an autonomous organisation established in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by the Government of India to conduct high-level postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations of uniform standards in the field of modern medicine and allied sciences. It awards its own qualification entitled ‘Diplomate of National Board’ in the speciality concerned.

The Diplomate qualifications awarded by the National Board of Examinations have been equated with the postgraduate and postdoctorate degrees awarded by other Indian universities by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Government of India through their notifications that have been issued from time to time.

Holders of the Board’s qualification, which is awarded after an examination, are eligible to be considered for specialists’ posts in any hospital other than a training/teaching institution.

For teaching appointments as lecturers in the broad specialities, holders of Diplomate of National Board should have at least one year of experience as a Tutor/Registrar/Demonstrator or at least one year of experience in an equivalent post in a recognised medical college that imparts undergraduate teaching.

For appointments as a Lecturer, with respect to candidates holding Diplomate NB in Super Speciality Subjects, the training shall be for two years in a recognised medical college that has a recognised postgraduate medical degree in the speciality concerned.
