Dr. Parimala B., Consultant Anaesthesiologist at NU Hospitals has done her M.B.B.S from meritorious Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute. She completed D.A (Diploma in Anaesthesiology) from prestigious Mysore Medical College. For further training in anaesthesia, she joined The Bangalore Hospital, Bangalore for DNB Anaesthesia recognized by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi and secured GOLD MEDAL in 2009. She has adequate experience in all specialities of anaesthesia like general surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology with special training in IVF, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Daycare anaesthesia and many more.

Vision

Dr. Parimala strongly believes that Anaesthesiologist is a perioperative physician. The care begins in the preoperative period, continues during the intraoperative period and ends with postoperative care. Physical and intellectual presence of anesthetist throughout the surgery is essential to take care of the expected and unexpected events. She takes pride in being completely responsible for the patient whether they are awake or asleep and make sure patient is stable, comfortable and pain-free during the postoperative period. In her words, “I am proud to say We care when you are not aware and believe patient safety is the first priority”.

Additional Skills

Trained in Ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia which is a recent development in anaesthesia and is going to be the future of anaesthesia.

Attended the workshop and trained in Echocardiography, an add-on skill to anesthesiologist.

Done course on Simulation-based anaesthesia at Ramaiah Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore.

Trained and completed ACLS course from Manipal Hospital, Bangalore.

Special areas of interest in anaesthesia are pediatric anaesthesia, USG anaesthesia, and difficult airway.

Has been attending various conferences and CME s to update my knowledge and skills; National conference, South zone and State conference, RACE, APGAP, ARC to name a few.
