Dr. Venkatesh says that NU Hospitals emphasises that the entire hospital is for the sake of the patient. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE: 1986-89: By training at the Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, i received extensive experience in both in basic and advanced urology techniques, especially endoscopic urology and neuro-urology. Lacking a nephrology unit however, my exposure to co-existent CRF and renal transplant work was very minimal.. 1989: Appointed Consultant Urologist at Bangalore Kidney Foundation, a voluntary Organization providing assistance to needy kidney patients. Here I participated in and gained considerable experience in renal failure work as well as in renal transplants. 1990: Have been part of a transplant team since 1990, and to date have assisted and performed over 500 transplants, involving both donor and recipient surgeries.. 1990: Appointed as a Consultant Urologist in 1990 at the Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, an advanced-care tertiary medical facility occupied this position till 1997 July. 1995: Started retroperitoneal Laparoscopic Urological surgery in Karnataka for the first time, and have since performed upper urinary tract surgeries including nephrectomy. 1996: Performed for the first time in Karnataka, intraurethral stenting for Strictures of the urethra. 1997: Appointed as Medical Director at the Bangalore Kidney Foundation Chande Nephro-Urology Centre , A voluntary organization providing specialty service in Nephrology and Urology. July 1998: Appointed Honorary Surgeon, Command Hospital - Air Force, Bangalore.
